Nearly Enough
A Blank Verse Sonnet

as if there could be a thing like that
fools who measure and put labels
to comfort themselves and compare;
mine is more than yours
Yet you argue and
bring me flowers,
paint me flowers,
grow me flowers and a garden
while I doubt the colours of our last kiss
for too many summers
and tell this to no one
I too may have loved
the nearly enough kind of love,
if there could be a thing like that
