Nineteen

A Poem

Nineteen years to the day
I went from nothing to father
The only medal I ever wanted
bestowed on me like a crown
but in the shape of a crying baby
the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen
and all I could say when I saw you was
I can’t believe he looks just like me
