Seasons

A Poem

The seasons of my life
pass intermittently
as the colors change
and the ice melts,
leaving me standing
in a puddle of self
still wondering if
this is all there is

From winter to spring
to summer to fall
I ebb and flow
with mental dynamics
that suit the weather
but don’t dress
me as I should
for this day of the year

I am the seasons
as I dip and stretch
to all parts of me
living inside my body
inside this head
inside this world
until I make it stop
and just enjoy the breeze

Feel the seasons pass
but allow them to stay,
if only for a moment,
because you will never
be in this exact moment
at any other time
