The Magic of Winter

Let snow cover the imperfections

A fresh snowfall
Transforms a broken town
Into a winter wonderland

I watch lights flicker behind
Half-open shades
Lips moving quickly

I see your ripped shirt
As red as blood
Laced with blonde strands

I want to scream but
I let it catch in my throat
There’s nothing left to say

No point recollecting
You and I entwined, watching
Snow envelop our cracked roof
