Some days are like that.
You don’t feel it,
the desire to do
what you have to.
Your bed’s warm and
you want to slumber,
unmoving — unbothered for
just a bit longer.

It’s alright
sometimes
to feel this way,
tired and sluggish,
lazy to be out there.
You’re allowed to take a day off
and give in to your whims
pushing work off
to another day,
another tomorrow.

It’s okay,
it’s fine,
you will get to it,
sometime.

But beware.
The Muse is fickle
and capricious,
in the shadows
out of sight, lurking.

And when she comes calling
I pray that you’re working
