Tournesol/soul’s faces,
heliocentric reach

Optimistic and atrophic,
seeds bittersweet

Haggard and haloed,
head high/yellow hope

Brush wrought metallurgy
in belligerent stroke

Bold desperate merry
praying to one note

Candelabra impasto
of impossible warmth

In cathedral of the sun,
alight the aching torch
