Georgia Lord was elected as Mayor of the City of Goodyear in March of 2011 and re-elected as Mayor in 2013. She has served on the Goodyear City Council since 2005 before resigning her position as Vice Mayor to run for Mayor.

Mayor Lord is currently the Co-Chair of the Luke West Valley Council, and is actively involved with the West Valley Partners and the Luke Forward Campaign, which played a key role in bringing the F-35 Mission to Luke Air Force Base.

Lord is a member and past Chair of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC) Ambassadors Steering Committee. She also serves on the GPEC Board of Directors. GPEC awarded Mayor Lord the Distinguished Service Award in recognition of her promotion and advancement of economic development in greater Phoenix. In 2014, Mayor Lord was named one of the 50 most influential women in Arizona business by AZ Business Magazine.

Previously she served as Chair of the Goodyear City Center Technical Advisory Committee, which was responsible for crafting Goodyear’s new downtown strategy. In 2008, she was a member of the citizens’ team that brought home the All-America City Award to Goodyear.

She is a graduate of the Arizona State University School of Real Estate and is fluent in German thanks to a diplomatic tour of duty with her husband, Ron, a retired U.S. Air Force Colonel. Together, they have four children and five grandchildren.
