Jobs and Economic Development

We are facing key issues like the ongoing support of Luke Air Force Base, expanding opportunities along the 303 Highway, and ensuring that State Route 30 is built. This is a critical time not only for Goodyear, but also for the entire West Valley.

It is critically important that we continue to protect Luke Air Force Base and the F35 mission. The base is not only critical to our national security, but it is also an economic asset that benefits all surrounding cities — including Goodyear. I was proud to serve as a leading voice on the Luke West Valley Council and Luke Forward and will continue to be a strong voice in protecting this important asset.

We must ensure that Goodyear is as business friendly as possible. My goal is to continue to make government more efficient, making it easier for new businesses to open and expand by continuing to cut red tape. It is important we make sure our taxes and fees remain low, allowing residents and businesses to keep their hard-earned money, while also continuing to provide quality city services.

Families choose Goodyear because of our excellent services and small-town feel. But they need well-paying jobs to avoid long commutes to Phoenix and other far away employment centers. Goodyear must continue to promote its excellent freeway access to large employers looking for fast access to West Coast markets in a community that is affordable and friendly to its workers.

Lower Taxes and Fees

I am committed to providing reliable city services to our residents at the lowest tax burden possible, ensuring businesses and residents are able to choose how they spend and invest their money.

As the economy continues to improve, I will continue to push for a realistic evaluation of revenues versus the cost of doing business with the goal of saving taxpayer dollars whenever possible.

When I took over as Mayor, I inherited a position that had been marred by conflict, strife, and controversy. Over the past 6 years, we have built a stronger Goodyear with a City Council that works together and is on the leading edge of attracting jobs and building a stable future.

Quality City Services

As our city grows, we must look at ways to enhance the quality of life for all our residents and ensure Goodyear is on the top of the list for businesses that are looking to relocate. This can be accomplished by maintaining our city’s unique character, investing in public safety, and improving on our excellent city services.

I am proud to be the Mayor of Goodyear and be a part of a wonderful city that strives to provide the best services to its residents and businesses. I will work to make sure everyone in our community has a chance to offer ideas and suggestions for the future of Goodyear. Together, we can continue our positive momentum.
