There were a million things I wanted to be as I was growing up. Most days, I aspired to be a lawyer; Some days, I wanted to be a teacher; Other days, I insisted on becoming a psychologist. However, if there’s anything for certain, it is that ever since I came to know of the real-life existence of superheroes, I have always dreamt of becoming one. Powerpuff girls, Wonder woman, Jean Gray or even Pink Ranger; Just imagining being half as good as any of these heroes would send adrenaline rushing through my veins and give me so much confidence to fight through the day. Indeed, what a wild dream this was for a child growing up in the nineties. But now, I am convinced, more than ever, that this may just be possible.

Today, being able to communicate with machines is such a powerful skillset and it really has become the closest any human being can ever get to having superpowers and becoming a superhero. Didn’t Ironman teach us that?

A superhero’s job is to save the world. With the rapidly increasing advancement of technology today, cybercrimes have been on the rise. Imagine how many people one can save just by stopping these crimes behind a computer and how powerful that can make one feel.

So, who can be these superheroes?

Can your very own child be the next superhero?

ABSOLUTELY.

It is good to start young. Many children today can effortlessly pick up a smart device and use it without guidance as though it is second nature to them. Unfortunately, unhealthy addictions to these screens and non-value-adding usage of these devices are not uncommon. In the near future, having no knowledge about codes or programming will serve as a disadvantage to children. This technology-illiteracy will lead to them being out-casted in a technology-based universe.

Many parents have the misconception that learning coding means allowing their children to face computers more often and that this niche skillset should only be exposed to children who want to become software engineers or computer experts. But this is not the case. Giving your children the opportunity to learn how to code is more than just facing computers and becoming a ‘hacker’. Not only does it improve children’s problem solving skills, it also provides them with a fantastic platform to explore their logical and critical thinking capabilities.

If they say that to teach is to touch a life forever, then here at Loshberry Code Studio, we aim to adhere. Loshberry Code Studio believes in providing only the best for every child enrolled with us. We stand firm that education towards coding is best learned through a combination of physical and on-screen activities. Our classroom experience extends to more than just instilling computational thinking skills to our students and enabling them to gain both technical know-hows as well as an appreciation for the human aspects of technology. Our classroom promises a playground for children to explore their creativity, engage their intuitions as well as focus on their character building, focusing especially on resilience as well as teamwork.
