How to Return items with an Apple® AirTag, tile® or TrackR™
You found something that has a tracking hardware attached to it? Great! That’ll make it easier to return the item to the rightful owner with the Lost and Found Software.
As a Lost and Found Software user, you have multiple options to proceed.
You find an Apple® AirTag or an item with an AirTag attached?
- Tap and hold the top of your iPhone or NFC-capable smartphone to the white side of the AirTag.
- Tap the notification that appears. This opens a website that provides information about the AirTag, including its serial number.
- If the owner marked it as lost, you might see a message with information about how to contact the owner.* You can contact the owner to let them know that you found their AirTag.
* You can view a Lost Mode message on any NFC-capable smartphone, such as an iPhone or Android phone.

You find a Tile® or an item with a Tile® attached?
Follow these steps to make sure the Tile® and lost item get back to their owner:
- Download the app and register for an account. (free of charge)
- Find a safe location where you’d like to leave the Tiled item.
- Log in and run the app next to the Tile for 2–5 minutes.
- Leave the Tile in the safe location, as the owner will now be notified of its location
And that’s it! You’ve just used the power of the Tile Network.

As a customer you can report your loss by making a screenshot of the last location displayed in your app and upload it along with your inquiry.
