Latvia’s gambling industry sales report
Lotteries and Gambling Supervision Inspection of Latvia (LGSI) have revealed the data of Latvia’s gambling industry turnover, that is amounted to €124.63 million during the period of first half of 2016.
Latvia’s gambling industry reported turn over of €113.06 million in the same period of last year (2015). The stats show that there is a rapid 10% rise year-on-year.
The industry’s net turnover has seen a hike by 8.6% by reaching €102.2 million. In the previous year, the figure was recorded €93.78 million over the same period.
Betting profit has seen a rise by 16.9%. The income derived from interactive gambling has gone up by 74%.
Slot machines drew a profit of 4%, on the other hand bingo lotteries were not much profitable than the previous year.
Lottery and gambling industry have seen a growth of 23.4% in the current year’s first half, with the total turnover of €14.55 million. In the previous year of same period it was recorded €11.79 million.
The head of LGSI Signe Birne, stated that “A decrease in profit can be observed in all game types both in the first and second quarters of 2016 as compared to the fourth quarter of 2015. The only exception is profit from betting and interactive games”.
There were 8,337 slot machines in June 2015 in 321 game halls, with 5 casinos in the country. The number of slot machines has been increased by 305, meanwhile there has been no change in the number of halls and casinos this year.
