They Are Going to Exhaust Us To Death
That’s How They’ll Win, with Lies and Conjecture Designed to Wear Us Out
I’m exhausted. I didn’t know — and even though I’ve been writing about it — I really and truly didn’t know how exhausted I was until I saw this tweet.
I don’t often talk politics, and it’s usually because I’m waiting for someone smarter than me to speak up so I don’t have to. I don’t want to wade into the pool of public discourse and bullshit, because there’s nothing good for me there, but the more that I think about “the other side,” the more that I see shit like above.

This is a war cry.
It’s how all Republicans make their way into the world of politics. Tell enough lies and the people on the right will love and support you because you’re adding to the list of victimization they’ve had to face at the hands of the big bad democrats.
I don’t really give a fuck if Republicans lie, they do that all the time.
“Hey did you hear about the latest lie?” is said around the water cooler every single day, they act like they are at war, and they behave as if their lives depend on what happens on Twitter and social media.
They have now discovered that by telling outrageous lies, they can become not only political but politically famous and I blame AOC.
AOC worked tirelessly to get into office. She walked thousands of miles — literally — in the same shoes, so much so that they had holes in them, and for her efforts, she received fame, if not fortune, and was on all the famous nightly television shows and now Republicans are searching for fame over function and I’m pretty sick of it.
The reason I don’t want to see Republicans win is that they lie. And whether we like it or not, the major power in America has a huge effect on the rest of the world, including and especially Canada.
I don’t want liars to win and to gain access to some of the most private and secure information in the world, and I’m somehow the bad guy because I’m “woke.” No mother fucker, I just don’t want this planet to die while I’m on it.
I don’t give a fuck what happens when I’m gone, but while I’m here, I’d like to vote for people who don’t lie, and I’d like to make sure that I have the opportunity to vote for folks who tell the truth and genuinely want to make a difference on this planet.
That’s the definition of the “Woke Mind Virus,” apparently because I care about others, I’m somehow the bad guy.
There very much is a “us vs them,” mentality going on and I’ve been saying for years that we need to learn to work with them, but honestly, I’m just done. The lies, the bullshit, and the gaslighting are no longer palatable for me.
I don’t want to discuss politics, but if I have to, to make sure that y’all stop voting for very smart people who are very clever at lying I guess I’m going to have to dive in and I’m starting with this witch, Elise Stefanik.
It is dangerous to take politicians who clearly want fame and power more than they want to support their communities at face value. We have to second guess everything they say because they clearly can’t tell the truth from a lie to save their own lives.
I’m looking at you George Santos if that is your real name, (it’s also not?).
Each of us humans has to decide what we’re going to do with our time here, and I guess my time is going to be spent doing more research like my writing hero Arturo Dominguez because we clearly need more fact-checkers in this bullshit than we did ever before.
Fact Check: Hillary Clinton lost the election in 2016 because she was being harrassed and ridiculed and lied about by a guy who on camera invited the Russian government to hack the American one. And as it turns out, they did it.
Fact Check: Hillary Clinton just won in court because a court ordered Donald Trump and the company to pay $1 million dollars, for lying about her and getting her investigated, to begin with.
I’m not saying we need to be more like the republicans but I am saying they are chasing fame now because everyone wants to be a fucking celebrity instead of a community leader. There’s more money in being famous then there is in being a community leader and from where I’m standing, the community doesn’t need any more celebrities. It needs people willing to work.
We need teachers, doctors, and nurses, and we need them to be paid well because they have more than pulled their weight during this pandemic. We need police officers without a desire to kill. We need cops who know that preserving life is the goal, not ending it.
We need art, we need all of it for this to work, and for all of us to be happy.
The US Declaration of Independence says that “All Men Are Created Equal,” but it doesn’t say anything about women, children, non-binary folks or LGBTQ2S+ and that’s because they didn’t know we existed. But we do, and we deserve to have space filled with people who genuinely care about our needs, instead of those who will lie about the truth in order to be famous.
Is there anything lamer than lying to be famous? (Not really, no.)
