“Innovation comes from going to a domain that has not been explored traditionally,” said Nishith Muppalapati, the founder and CEO of SysML.

This claim makes sense given that a conventional approach in robotics — to create efficient machines — would have meant simplifying the movement, the total number of servomechanisms, and their optimal operating strategy.

This approach can now be discarded, and in its place, an entirely new approach to robotics has been presented. This is because traditional approaches, such as those based on the industrial time scale and the cost of robots, cannot keep up with the coming changes in robotic technology.

In January 2011, the Global Markets were shocked with the news that IBM Watson won Jeopardy! The tournament, beating the best contestants in the world. This achievement was made possible due to Watson’s ability to process and understand the questions posed and answer them most accurately.

It should not surprise anyone aware of what Watson can do when it comes to artificial intelligence. IBM Watson represents the perfect marriage of computer science and cognitive science, and their combined efforts will undoubtedly have a significant impact on industries…
