Duane Martin played as Louil Silas Jr. in the New Edition movie that was released on the BET network. Louil was an American record executive, musician, and record producer who is most known for founding and running an MCA Records imprint, Silas Records.

Duane had a whole new personality and look for the movie playing as Louil Silas Jr. The hairdo sort of threw me off from recognizing him right away with the mustache and beard. Duane was dressed up like a record producer for the music business. He looked like a big and important business man. The role Duane played was something I had never seen him play before. He looked and acted very sophisticated. Duane does well as an actor, and in my opinion, I think he needs to be offered more and bigger roles to play.
