Margaret Avery had an outstanding performance playing her role as Shug Avery in the movie The Color Purple. She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress. Margaret has a long list of roles in films and in television, but I never knew until she played as Shug in 1985. Because of the movie The Color Purple, her face is known whenever I see her. Margaret has been seen at a popular restaurant. It is owned by Duane and Tisha Campbell Martin known as Xen Lounge.
