Xen Lounge Tribute to Prince

On Launch Thursday, there will be a tribute to Prince at Xen Lounge. Doors will open at 7:30pm. Showtime will be at 9:00pm.

Parade is the soundtrack album of the 1986 film Under the Cherry Moon. It was named one of the best albums of 1986. According to Wikipedia, it also sold two million copies both in the United States and abroad.

My memory of Prince

For a long time, I didn’t know that I was hearing Prince when I heard the song, I Wanna Be Your Lover. It was the year of 1979. I had no idea that Prince was who he was until he really became popular in the 80’s. I Wanna Be Your Lover was the first song that I remember hearing from him, and it was the single from his second album. Music videos didn’t seem to be as popular as they were in the 80’s when I was hearing the single. Most of the singers I watched on the American Bandstand and Soul Train. I remember Prince from the music TV show Solid Gold singing 1999 in the 80's. When I first got a good look at him and heard what he was singing, I thought he was a little strange. Prince was always strange to me, and women were loving him. Prince would crawl on his hands and knees and lick all over his hands. I had never seen a man like him before. I couldn’t help but love most of the music from Prince. So I guess I can say that I paid attention to him too. Now, I’m going to miss Prince. Now I realize how much I did love his music. Now, I’m learning more about Prince as a person and how much he cared to help people.
