Parallel Programs…
… at the in-person Salzburg Media Academy 2024
The Salzburg Global Media Academy’s in-person program showcased in 2024 a first-of-its-kind initiative of “Spotlight Sessions,” offering students and scholars a rich, parallel programming experience. These sessions were designed around pivotal themes of care, imagination, belonging, and agency- in the age of machines- each essential to contemporary media literacy and transmedia storytelling. This approach not only enhanced their creative capabilities but also prepared them to navigate and shape the evolving media landscape effectively.
Focusing on belonging and agency, the Spotlight Sessions aimed to deepen students’ understanding of media pedagogy. By integrating these themes, the Spotlight Sessions provided a dynamic, interactive learning environment where students honed their skills, shared insights, and built meaningful connections.
