Redefining Humanity: Art and Research in the AI-driven Era

Through her art and research, Tong Wu has been seeking to engage in meaningful dialogue about the evolving nature of humanity in this AI-driven era, challenging us to consider the ethical and societal implications of this transformative technology.

In this virtual presentation, she briefly discussed the societal shifts AI brings, including changes in communication, work, and creativity, and use specific art projects and work experiences of hers to demonstrate her approach to understanding how these shifts might redefine what it means to be human, focusing on aspects like digital identities, co-creating patterns, and critical thinking in an AI-driven world.

The session was moderated by Prof Sanjeev Chatterjee, and attended by students of the 2024 media academy, faculty, and Fellows from the alum community. It served as a foundational curtain-raiser to the in-person program.
