On top of Mount Helena in Montana.

“Public Lands Provide So Much Happiness and Peace”

Morgan Knickerbocker is a junior at Jefferson High School in Boulder, MT.

I grew up and live in Montana, which has an abundance of public lands to explore. There is so much that you can do with public lands. They provide so much happiness and peace for people. In the winter you can go skiing, snowboarding, and so much more with the beautiful snow we get. In the summer time you can go boating, jet skiing, canoeing, kayaking, or paddle boarding. There is also hunting, fishing and many other recreational sports.

There is so much more to do with public lands that I still want to experience. I have always wanted to go fishing and hunting and hope I will someday have the chance.

Living in Montana has made me realize the endless opportunities for using public lands. In the summertime I love to go out on the Canyon Ferry Lake on a boat or paddle board, or jet ski. I love going out with my friends and playing tennis in parks, or just simply hiking to the top of Mount Helena with beautiful views of Helena below me.
