We don’t really like insurance. And that’s why we are creating Lovys!

Yes, we all know that you’ve lost that lovin’ feeling for insurance… We lost it too. And that’s why we decided to start Lovys.

The idea of protection through insurance is good, but insurance today feels like a collection of pain points.

First, it is complicated and time consuming to buy. Long forms are still the norm and in general it is really difficult to understand what we are actually covered and not covered for.

Second, it is difficult to manage. We don’t know how many insurance policies we have, what is covered and how much we pay.

Last but not least, when something happens, it often feels like insurance companies are putting obstacles in our way so that we give up on making a claim. Or worse, there is some exclusion that no one told us about before or that was hidden in small print.

We started with the question of how could we make it simple, transparent and personal. Keeping these three core values in mind, we redesign the products from scratch.

Of course, to be simple it has to be paperless, intuitive and fast. We needed to be 100% digital. However, the more we thought about digital it sort of seemed like we were just moving insurance from the vinyl to the CD age. Sure, the sound is better, but it still is 10 songs in a disc.

Like Netflix or Spotify did for movies and music, we thought it was time to create a single interface for all our insurance needs. An all-in-one and personal solution.

Lastly, to be personal one needs to be flexible. One needs to be able to adjust coverage or to simply cancel. No long-term contracts.
