Fruit Quest

This ‘recipe’ is actually a fun shopping trip :) Identify the best place(s) in your area to buy the widest variety of fresh and/or organic fruits and vegetables. Since this is the Dessert section, our focus is on the fruits!

At the store, scan the offerings for fruits you haven’t had in a long time, or perhaps have never eaten at all. Logically, if you pursue this method, you will eventually cycle through all the fruits and then repeat the process. If you buy something you don’t know how to eat, YouTube will teach you.

Buy enough fruits for 1–2 large plates, take home, wash and eat. Be aware of your allergies and of course don’t eat anything you are allergic to (which also applies to every foot item in this book!).

If your goals are weight loss, this should be a cheat meal dessert, otherwise keep in mind the high amounts of simple sugars in fruits. Some do have significant carb content, such as bananas and plantains, but mainly fruit energy is sugar-based.
