Why should you learn KNIME?
Spoiler alert: KNIME is the democratization of data science.
KNIME ANALYTICS PLATFORM is an open source software based on visual elements called nodes (they encapsulate different types of operations or algorithms), and arrows (flows) that are combined in a very friendly and visual way for data science.
It is developed on the Eclipse platform and programmed in Java.
1. Open Source
You can download KNIME and start working with it immediately.
I recommend you read KNIME’s open source history and philosophy here.
2. “End to end” tool
With this tool, you won’t have the need to move from one tool to another. You can do the whole process, from ETL (extract, transform and load) and machine learning to the creation of dashboards and reporting in BIRT (it is not native to KNIME, but it is perfectly integrated and follows KNIME’s open source philosophy).
This does not imply that you cannot work with other tools, quite the opposite.
