Hello everyone! My name is Cindy Ngin and my business is Sugar Dust. It is a Lowell based bakery specializing in French macarons and custom cakes.

It’s bittersweet to say we are at the halfway point of the 2018 EForAll Winter Accelerator program. There is a lot that we’ve learned already but also so much more to learn from the program. Last week, we had the honor of having Chris Scott and Glenn Prezzano from the Lowell Sun and the owner of Merrimack Valley Magazine respectively, join us during class. Both Chris and Glenn explained that what makes the press isn’t always about your business. It’s the story of our background before our business, “human interest stories”.

I learned that people read the news and blogs more on their phones and tabs then from an actual newspaper. Promote yourself or product(s) through blogs and social media! In Chris’s words, “don’t be bashful” and Glenn says “Perseverance is key! Don’t give up”! The best piece of advice I got out of the night was to get involved with local organizations.
