2017 Week 4 Session 2, Websites and SEO with Gary Blogged by Alex Sanchez

Hi my name is Alex Sanchez and I am the co-founder of WTHRS Apparel. The SEO/Website session with Gary Chamberlain was very informative. After the session was over, I walked away with a better understanding of how to effectively launch the right website for your business. Gary explained how Word press powers about 30% of the internet. With that being said it is important to know the correct tools and resources to create your own website.

After discussing the various ways of how to create your website, We also touched on the importance of SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Gary explained how to most effectively reach your customers by taking a few key steps in making your website ranking higher so that they find you. The two most important factors being content and creditability. Gary stressed how important it is to “avoid duplicating content”. He also taught us that you can ensure your website complies with these regulations by making sure your website has a canonical link.

As I move along through the 2017 summer accelerator there are so many new concepts that I am now equipped with to get my business to be up and running and have a higher rate of success. Things are now starting to become more clear to me as I take new steps from the workshops to make my business more effective. The SEO/Website workshop pretty much goes hand in hand with all customer segmentation and understanding who your customer is. It Goes back to the idea that a lot of individual business owners often assume that “If I build it, they will come”, when in reality the real question is “If I build it, will they come”. This is the same idea behind SEO and setting up your website in a way that will make them come to you. Because of Eforall, I now have a better understanding of how to effectively create a successful website. Thank you Gary!
