As LoyalCoin’s token generation event (TGE) nears its end, we want to remind everyone that all TGE participants should have a NEM wallet address on their account on the LoyalCoin website. And we urge everyone to create that address through the Nano Wallet.

(Pro tip: Those icons stand for the features of the Nano Wallet. What are those? Better download one.)

But first, a rundown of FAQs…

What is a NEM wallet address?

This is the unique 40-character address generated when you create an account with NEM.

Why do we need to have that?

Because LoyalCoin is built on the NEM blockchain, we’ll send your LoyalCoin as a NEM Mosaic asset through your NEM address when the TGE ends. We’ll reveal in the next few days how that process will exactly go.

What happens if I don’t have a NEM address?

We won’t be able to send LoyalCoins to you without a NEM address of your own

Where can I get an address?

Install the NEM NanoWallet for your desktop/laptop computer. You can download the NanoWallet from this link. (Now, if your computer stops you from opening the program, here are some troubleshooting tips for iOS and Windows.)

Wait, is there an option for mobile?

There is a NEM app for iOS and Android that also allows you to generate a NEM address. However, the app doesn’t allow you to check NEM Mosaic assets like LoyalCoin, so you’re better off using the NanoWallet anyway.

But what if I already created a NEM address via the mobile app?

You can transfer that NEM address from your mobile wallet to the Nano Wallet. Our next blog will be specifically focused on that.

On my account, I have entered a NEM address from my exchange wallet. Is that OK?

It’s not. NEM addresses from exchanges tend to be shared, so when we send LoyalCoin through such an address, it may get lost along the way. So please create one using the Nano Wallet.

Now, here below is our step-by-step guide for creating a NEM address using the Nano Wallet. Descriptions for each step are shown below the screenshot

Once your Nano Wallet is open, click “Sign Up
Select “Simple Wallet” (You can also create a private key wallet but it takes more steps.)
Click “Ready” and follow each step
Select the “Mainnet” network and click “Next”
Enter the wallet name you want (for this example, we used “Test Wallet”) and click “Next”
Enter a password for your wallet and click “Next
Click “Start” and do as told about moving your cursor
As in, seriously follow it. The progress bar doesn’t move when you don’t move your cursor around. Imagine that you’re rubbing a genie lamp or something.
Once done rubbing the genie lamp, click “Next”
The next few screenshots are security steps. Do as told and save your wallet details somewhere secure. It can be via Ledger Nano wallets, or flash drives stored in safes. Up to you. You can ask our community over at Telegram for tips.
Do as told, store somewhere secure, and proceed with clicking “I have my wallet file”
Look at your private key, copy it to a secure file (e.g., password-protected note) and click “I have my private key and password”
Click “I agree.” Doing so will lead you to the Login screen
This is the Login screen, which also appears when you click “Login” on the upper right part of your screen.
This is what the Nano Wallet Dashboard looks like. You’re one step away from seeing your account number, but first, check if the circle beside “Node” is green
If the circle is red, click “Node” and select a different node (any node would do except localhost) until the circle turns green. Then click “Close
Now that the circle beside “Node” is green, click “Account: Primary
Now, you can see your new NEM Address. Copy that to your LoyalCoin account and that’s it. You’ll receive your LoyalCoin on that specific address when the TGE ends. So make sure that you have your wallet address secured from now until the end of the TGE.

Over the next few days, we’ll guide you on topics such as opening the NEM address from your NEM Mobile app on the Nano Wallet, the process of receiving LoyalCoin when the TGE ends, and upcoming new features for the website, among others.
