Broadcom is a Fortune 500, fabless semiconductor company headquartered in Irvine, California. From 2013 to 2014, I had a chance to work at the Rancho Bernardo office for one full year (both part-time and full-time) as a Software Test Engineer intern.

Due to Broadcom’s confidentiality policies, I am not allowed to disclose the prototypical equipments I tested. I worked on 2 projects: testing in-house Bluetooth drivers used in Windows 8 (pre-release versions) and testing Android, Bluetooth-enabled softwares used in Porsche, BMW, and Chrysler’s car kits. I also worked shortly on a Near Field Communication (NFC) project before my leave.

My time at Broadcom was an incredible experience. I learned a lot about different technologies and how thoroughly tested they must be before reaching the consumers. I also learned how to work under pressure and in a professional environment. These knowledge will surely prepare me for my future internships.
