Depression comes in many different faces.

This man has always had the door shut on his face. When he was 14 he wa left on his own, in the street. Later he got married and a kid arrived but he didn’t have the money to provide for either the baby or his wife. Ran by desperation he robbed a store and in a misfortune of events he killed a guy. He wasn’t even 20 when he got sentenced to 15 years in jail. But he doesn’t give up anything. He comes out stronger and pursue his career in baseball. Another door shuts in front of his face. They don’t let him play because he’s black, as he puts it.

The only job he can now do, being a black ex con in the 60s, is the rubbish man.

This man has put all himself to have a good life and to give his family a decent one and every time something went wrong for him. Now he is risking his career because he asked his boss to drive the rubbish truck, considered as an insult (because he’s black).

What this guy faces every day is pure depression. It is not hard to imagine how devastated he must be.

Denzel’s acting was truly beautiful and Viola Davis’ performance was stunning.
