The Big Short
8.5/10
This film is fucking brilliant!
That’s the first thing I thought when the end credits ran on the screen.
I was scared that I wouldn’t have understood some dialogues because of the subject but Randolph and McKay, the writers, really did an amazing job in making those explanations idiot-proof, using the actors to interact with the viewers. And how they did it was just genius.

Some great faces are present here. From Ryan Gosling, actor that I absolute loved in Drive, to Brad Pitt. And the two top stars are Carell and Bale. Especially this last one, who wonderfully plays the difficult character of a genius weirdo. Both Steve and Christian have given an Oscar-nominee performance but Bale in particular was sublime.
I didn’t like the directing very much and the cinematography was quite poor but the screenplay, even though it’s based on a book that it’s itself based on a true story, is fantastic.
So, in conclusion of this short thought right out of the cinema, it was super enjoyable film, funny and that makes you reflect. Super recommend!
