Not sure if it’s because I particularly loved the book thus I had quite high expectations or simply because the movie is actually poorly made, anyhow it was a huge delusion.

The characters’ development is almost totally absent. The film per se is just too short to allow it, which heavily impacts the final product.

Furthermore even the directing is particularly poor, as also the other technical aspects are. The only thing that could be saved, if you really want to save something, which really shouldn’t be done, is Emily Blunt’s acting.

Even from the screenplay point of view, many fundamental details present in the book have been removed.

Another thing that I really didn’t like is that it was set in New York, while the book is in London. I really don’t understand this choice, also because all the actors are British! Maybe for the budget? If that’s why than they’re just idiots.

Anyway, it’s a real shame because the book is really good, maybe it just shouldn’t have been made into a movie.
