It’s the most glorious festive time of the year. One where I try and answer the most complicated of Christmas questions. Namely, what’s with all the silly hymns and where can I get a baby that’s tough and spicy rather than tender and mild.

Today is Boxing Day here in the UK. It also happens to be the feast of St. Stephen — but more on that later.

Why ‘Boxing Day’? That’s a Victorian tradition based on re-gifting shit you don’t want and getting rid of old stuff you’ve had replaced. The day after Christmas, the wealthy would box up items they no longer needed to give to the poor. It was a day where servants would be given time off and thanked for their hard work with a ‘special box’ of treats.

I was not around in the Victorian times, but if I were — I’d have something to say about this upstairs/downstairs shitty Downton Abbey arrangement.

Who was Good King Wenceslas?

We all know he liked his pizzas Deep pan, crisp and even but more than the average bit of cracker knowledge, most people wouldn’t be able to pull him out of a historical lineup. Until now! You’re all very welcome.
