Hunter Biden Should Be Offered As Tribute
Because if you haven’t got integrity, you haven’t got anything worth voting for.
News has finally reached here in the UK about Joe Biden using a presidential pardon to get his wayward son, Hunter Biden, out of hot legal water. Hunter didn’t disclose on a federal firearms application his addiction to crack cocaine, faced sentencing for that this week and was due to be sentenced for separate tax-related offences next week.
This pardon means convictions related to both cases are wiped clean from his record.
There’s a very legitimate argument that if Hunter Biden wasn’t… well, Hunter Biden, the firearms case wouldn’t have come to court and wouldn’t have been prosecuted. According to US Sentencing Commission data; of the 7,454 people sentenced for illegal gun possession in 2021, only about 5% of them were charged due to drug use.
I agree, this claim has some validity.
It’s political manoeuvring of the highest order but there are two points to consider here. Are the Republicans trying to throw Hunter Biden under the bus? Obviously they are, but that’s beside the point — they still need underlying criminal behaviour to pursue in the first instance.
