What is a smart contract audit?
In order to avoid the company to make false accounting, hiding losses, and cheating the investment public, the company’s financial statements need accountants to check accounts, and audit; This concept also applies to engineers, who may have errors and bugs after they write code that someone needs to catch.

The smart contract audit is to check and comment on the smart contract code of the project. Typically, these contracts are written in the Solidity programming language and made available through GitHub; Security audits are especially valuable for DeFi projects that are preparing to process blockchain transactions worth millions of dollars, or a large number of players. In a well-known case, the 2016 DAO hack on the Ethereum blockchain stole about $60 million worth of ETH and even led to a hard fork in the Ethereum network.

The audit is usually divided into four steps:

1. Smart contracts are provided to the audit team for preliminary analysis.

2. The audit team submits its findings to the project for action.

3. The task force makes modifications according to the problems found.

4. The audit team issues its final report, which considers any new modifications or unresolved errors.
