Los Angeles loves movies. There’s no two ways about it. So, it should come as no surprise that revival, archival and specialty theaters are putting down roots all over town.
The American Cinematheque however, comprises the originals. The non-profit is made up of two theaters: Grauman’s Egyptian Theatre (circa 1922) on Hollywood Blvd and The Aero Theater (circa 1940) on Montana Avenue — both of which have been lovingly updated and renovated.
The annual calendar is filled with film festivals, special guest appearances and expertly curated double features — and as a bonus, many events are family friendly.
