Softbank signed a strategic partnership with Ludos on 17 August, Friday in Japan. Through this strategic partnership, Ludos is proud to be the Softbank’s 3rd investment in the blockchain sphere.

The partnership aims to provide 2 avenues of collaborative efforts which include advanced gaming resources and products exchange and redesign their games to bring it to the next level.

“This time, Softbank and Ludos will collaborate in 2 ways. We will apply our blockchain based games onto their brand platform and boost their brand awareness. We will also help them train and build a technology team to accomplish cross industry; blockchain/traditional teams in the future” , said Evan Zhang, co-founder of Ludos.

The signing ceremony also featured partnerships between FullPay and Jmode. FullPay is a licensed digital payment company and authorised agent of Wechat Pay in Japan while Jmode provides thousands of retailers in Japan with inventory management system, AI and Big data analysis.

Evan also shared how the LUD coins earned by players in games will be expanded to daily life transactions as well. “We not only want our players to earn Ludos in games but rather use our Ludos coin in real life, for example to buy a cup of coffee or a T-shirt. We will get more real life applied scenarios to build the ecosystem in the future.”

Looking ahead, Ludos aims to take the gaming industry to greater heights. Tai Jin, co-founder of Ludos envisions Ludos to build a platform similar to Oasis seen in the movie Ready Player One. Furthermore, Ludos is driven to solve the pressing problems in the gaming industry with the Ludos Plasma, main chains and side chains.

“Right now we are seeing a lot of problems in the gaming industry. For example, player assets are not protected. If you are playing World of Warcraft, your equipment is just random numbers in the game developers database. This can be altered or changed anytime” said Tai Jin.

About Ludos Protocol
Ludos Protocol is a purpose-built blockchain infrastructure project for the gaming community. As only the third blockchain project to be backed by Japanese investment giant Softbank, Ludos addresses numerous shortcomings in the existing gaming landscape. Its main chain + multi-sidechain architecture allows games to run entirely on their own blockchain, preventing scalability issues that have plagued previous blockchain-based games. Additionally, the Protocol seeks to create a gamer-friendly ecosystem whereby game developers and gamers can come together to easily crowdfund and build on the platform. The use of non-fungible tokens (NFT’s) within the ecosystem will allow gamers to swap assets in one game for assets in another. Finally, through their partnership with FullPay Japan, Ludos will give gamers the chance to use LUD tokens that are earned in-game to shop and buy at a range of retail stores in Japan and later the world.
