Hoisting the flag : Welcome Lugus Labs validator
Archipel validator becomes Lugus Labs validator.
Back in April 2019, we started our project developing a high availability solution for blockchain services.
All started from the name “archipel”, archipelago in french, as we explained in our first blog post.
Our goal is to develop toolings for validator nodes to deploy them in a cluster (archipelago islands) to act as one global entity (archipelago concept bringing together all instances of islands into one) and run unsinkable services.
Back then, we wrote a white paper called “archipel” of what our vision was and what we wanted to achieve. Here a link to it.
We obtained a Web3 Foundation grant and we created LUGUS LABS company.
Thanks to this tooling, we launched our validator node on Polkadot that has been running and forging blocks since 2020.
As LUGUS LABS is our prime namer today, The Archipel validator is now renamed the LUGUS LABS validator. This allows us to harmonize our visibility and bring coherence to our naming.
Our Github project has also changed its name and is now called HABS (High Availability for Blockchain Services).
We will not use the metaphorical “archipel” naming and concept anymore in our activities.
