Dear Self,

I’m so confused right now.

I’m full of joy and elation. I am happy and disconcerted. I’m clear but uncertain. I’m confused and I’m frightened.

I feel gifted and supported. I feel overwhelmed.

I feel responsible.

I am, all of a sudden, acutely aware of how much unnecessary sadness people can be carrying.

I create things that can heal some of that. No, not heal…transform some of that into the safety and joy and contentment that is all of our birth right.

When it happens it is like alchemy.

Gold appears from the everyday stuff of life.

I can see it is a valuable thing that I can do for people. I can sense that it is making the world a better place. I intuitively knew this, but now I am taking it seriously.

Now I can see it is a role, a calling maybe even a vocation, one that carries great responsibility but also brings with it deep rewards.

I’ve spent a lot of years healing myself so that I could create spaces for others to find their joy if that’s what they want to do.

I’d like to remember to keep taking care of myself as I do this. I think that’s pretty important.

Luke
