Dear Self,

Standing in the sun with my eyes closed and letting the light filter through my eye lids.

Moving my head around so the light reaches every part of my eye.

Cupping my hands over my eyes so that they experience darkness.

Doing this over and over again.

Opening my eyes and looking at green things.

Listening to the sound of the wind.

Looking at the guitar my Dad just gifted to me, drawing it, not caring about how good the drawing is, really looking at it and appreciating it.

A warm bath.

Texting ‘Joy’ to the Joy Line.

Cooking food for the week.

Working on a creative project, making something, without a deadline.

Doing the dishes.

Getting the washing done.

I so easily forget what the things are that refill the well. And I can find them very, very, hard to do particularly when it is time to refill the well. I will avoid this list of things. I will tell myself I don’t know how to rest.

This isn’t true.

I know exactly how to refill the well.

I just have to choose to do it.

Love

Luke.
