The list

Dear Self,

Sometimes the list feels out of control and sometimes it feels completely in control.

Some of the factors that lead in either direction are clear.

Most of them are not.

The only way I have found to get my list under control is to:

· Write it down on a piece of paper
· Schedule each thing into the calendar

This invariably works but also takes a long time.

Throughout this process I get overwhelmed by the many things I have chosen to do. Perhaps at some level it helps me to take on less, to start editing the list as new things come along (new things are normally my new ideas!).

This process works and I avoid it. When I am overwhelmed it is the last thing I want to do and the first thing that helps.
