From the inception of Luko, it has aspired to reinvent home insurance that is accessible to all. Having spent much time working towards achieving this goal, Luko has now decided to open its arms to others who want to be a part of this change — it created a Company page.

With a dedicated page in place, the potential employees of Luko do not have to wander off to irrelevant information on the web. This article is all about why and how Luko created a career page. Also, it would mention the contents that would be available on this page. If you are on the journey of creating a career page, you might be able to take note of some pointers. Why did Luko open a company page?

The idea of a company page has been considered for a while at Luko. Finding career opportunities from a website where information is haphazard can indeed be tedious. We do not want to exempt talents from excellent work opportunities by confusing them while seeking these opportunities. Hence, we decided to bring our career opportunities under one section so that you can find everything on one page.

We also wanted to share much more than job opportunities.

Luko not only cares about its customers but also about its potential employees. An employee with excellent work ethics and commitment is a valuable addition to our team. Losing them as a potential employee is simply a loss for us too. Another reason behind creating a separate page is to emphasize transparency. With all the information in their grip, candidates can decide whether they want to embark on this insurance renovation journey with us or not.

What does the career page include?

So, you must be wondering what the career page of Luko includes. Let us enlighten you!

Since Luko is a fan of clarity, the career page will contain different segments to elaborate relevant points under each section. The career section would incorporate the following parts:

Key Figures

The key figures would obviously include the number of employees working at Luko, but also metrics as of where we are standing in terms of diversity and scaling. Apart from that, this page would include the salary grid with a salary range applicable for each position, as a mark for transparency. Since Luko aims to provide clarity to its potential employees, this salary grid allows them to estimate their compensation fairly and on an objective basis. This is also a way to assess that your compensation at Luko is based on your experience and expertise, and not on your bargaining skills. In short, this section would give you an overall idea about the organizational structure of Luko and the salary attached to each position at Luko.

Facilities working in Luko

Luko provides a great working environment for its employees. We care a lot for Lukooms well-being and we strongly believe in ownership in every way. We also think that everyone can manage their time the right way. That being said, every Lukoom needs to find room for work-life balance in their daily lives. This is the reason why we put in place an unlimited days-off policy.

Additionally, at Luko we offer 1 month of paternity leave (instead of the 11 legal days in France). This policy concerns a second parent, regardless of gender and status, because our society is evolving and family models are as varied as they are rich and diverse.

Luko also cares about creating accessibility and positive impact for all. Since 2019, it is certified B Corp, which means that Luko cares at creating clarity in social, environmental, legal, and public issues. So, our profit meets purpose. Therefore, we encourage our Lukooms (whether they are interns or under a permanent contract) to involve themselves in pro bono activities. By nudging our employees to participate in volunteer work, we encourage them to care about society. This way, we do not bind them to our work and allow them to contribute to several social issues.

We aim to create the more diverse possible workforce and make everyone feel welcomed at the workplace so that they can be their best version. Luko developed its principles based on the experience of its workers that we gathered during a workshop to craft our values (curious about it? Read more here). In short: for Luko, customer satisfaction is everything. Here, we strive to bring a positive impact on the world. The two things that drive us towards our goal are execution and result. To make sure of that, our employees work together to accomplish difficult tasks.

As the owners, we take responsibility for each of our moves as we care both for our customers and employees. Panicking during adverse situations is not the way to go — we stay positive and humble. Assessing the “fit” of the candidate with our values is a crucial part of our recruitment process. How did we create the career page?

We wanted to launch fast, with minimum dev and design ressources, and also plug it to internal ressources, which led us to host our career page on Notion. Given that a career page would require numerous resources, we needed a platform that is easy to use. Apart from this, it allowed us to create a fairly personalised and branded career page at light speed with no need to bother our development team. Anyone from HR or communication team can easily edit the page at any time. Furthermore, it was easy to plug in and share our internal pages (e.g Faces of the team or Diversity audit). Therefore, Notion acts as a user-friendly platform in building career pages without any hassle.

Guide to creating an effective company page

Building a Company page is no easy task. Your chance to acquire talented individuals who can further the organizational goals is dependent on this page to some extent. So, here are some tips you can try out to build an engaging company page:

  • Use website builders to create the page: whatever CMS you use, make sure that this page is easy to update by anyone from HR to communication teams.
  • Stress only the exceptional points: you won’t impress candidates by offering perks any other company offers (especially if it’s perks made mandatory by the law).
  • Ensure that you stay transparent and present your company’s real face: it’s very tempting to embellish things to attract more talents but being deceptive can bring no good to your relation with future employees. On the contrary, make a point of conveying the truth of the backstages of the company is a really good sign sent to the candidates.
  • Add a feature that would alert potential candidates about different job openings: if someone came all this way to know more about your company, they probably have a strong motivation. It would be a shame to loose such candidates just because they are no job opening fitting their profile at the time.
  • Use a simple design for your page to keep things intuitive and straightforward: UX good practices also apply to career page!
