The outcome of a culture workshop: Luko Principles Part 2
Luko has 7 Principles that regulate the way we act and work within and out of the company. They have been built collectively with the input of the team.
So much happened in 2020 ! After this crazy year for the world, the tech ecosystem, and Luko, we took some time to think about who we are and what we want to convey as a culture of work and relationships between the team members. Going from 30 to 90 people within a few months and coping with Covid-19, home office, and so on made it feel necessary to take a step back to thoughtfully shape our “Luko Principles”.
I detailed the process of that in this previous article; now is the time for the reveal !
Here are our Luko principles :
We spare no effort to create a relationship of trust with our customers.
We deliver the best experience, provide answers, and bring peace of mind. We are not elitist or inaccessible.
Our ambition is to surprise them with niche innovations made accessible for everyone and constantly delight them.
Building a very large successful business is not an end in itself it’s a means. We believe businesses like Luko are very powerful forces and ways to solve environmental and social issues. We leverage the latest technology, work hard, re-invent a business model in order to contribute positively to our communities and planet. Our end game is to allow everyone to enjoy their homes in a sustainable way.
We want to be part of the solution. We take our impact as seriously as our growth, set goals, and measure performance. We do not trade impact for short terms growth objectives.
We are relentless doers, we value speed of execution and iteration.
We assess each individual on their results, not on the title or number of hours worked.
We give room and freedom for people to execute and get things done.
We are crazy ambitious. We will be a global leader, and scale is the only way to have a true impact. We can’t succeed on our own — we build big things together, as a team.
Collaboration is key, we are a team dedicated to the same journey.
As individuals, we have the responsibility to carry our own backpacks, learn how to climb, and get fit for the very high altitude.
As a team, we have a duty to care for each other. We provide help and knowledge so we can make it to our goals.
We are problem solvers and we help each other, and those who matter to us. We help each other and those who matter to us.
We always achieve what we started, don’t leave things be and push forward.
It’s okay to make mistakes, but we are accountable for them and always take action to fix them and grow.
Every individual at Luko is a key contributor to achieving our company mission.
Our n°1 focus & running obsession is strongly caring, not only for our users but also for our team and our stakeholders.
We rise others, help them to improve themselves and seek feedback.
We deeply care about every individual in and out of our company and make sure to keep a kind and empathic attitude with our teammates, partners, and customers, whatever the situation.
Our journey is a puzzle to be solved with enthusiasm. Our mission is to make this crazy dream a reality. We deeply believe in the power of grit, and that all problems have findable solutions.
Our collective resilience is our secret weapon. Resilience comes with optimism, confidence, and creativity.
We stay hungry in the harsh moments and humble in success.
We make big bold moves. Sometimes we fail, but failure makes us smarter. We get back up, we make the next bet, and we go!
4 months after building these 7 Luko principles, we have now integrated these principles in our core HR processes : we are now able to recruit our newcomers in consistency with these values so that we make sure that all our Lukooms are true ambassadors of our culture.
This was also a kind of cement of our company culture for all those that have participated in the design of this new culture set, and the newcomers immediately immersing themselves in these values upon arrival.
