What Is the Universal Profile?

The Grid acts as an extension of your Universal Profile (UP). A Universal Profile is a blockchain-based smart profile that gives you complete control and ownership of your digital identity.

Initially only on the LUKSO blockchain, Universal Profiles are decentralized and interoperable smart contract accounts, that will be soon also able to work on other chains, meaning you can take them wherever you go — use them with any dApp and can become your future profile that only YOU own.With your Universal Profile, you can:

How to Use The Grid.

Start your journey with The Grid by logging into your UP on universaleverything.io. If you dont have an UP yet you can also make one on this site.

Create a Grid Page

In your UP, scroll down to the collectibles, tokens, and Grid bar, until you see this:

From there, select “add new”.

If you already have a Grid your page will look a little different. In that case, select the pencil on the bottom right side and hit the second item down labeled “Add New Grid” From there you will be able to title your Grid and choose how many columns it has.

Edit Existing Grids

1. Select the pencil icon to access your Grid tabs.
2. Click the pencil emoji next to the Grid you would like to edit.
3. You’ll be able to duplicate, delete, or edit the settings of the Grid.

Add Content to Your Grid

Select your Grid and click the + button labeled “Add New Content.”

You’re then able to choose from a variety of widget options:

• Website/Mini-App: Embed custom pages or iframe widgets.
• Custom Fields: Add images or plain text.
• YouTube Widget: Embed videos.
• Music Widgets: Add Spotify or SoundCloud links.
• Social Widgets: Integrate posts from X, Instagram, or Farcaster.
• Elfsight Widgets: Access a wide range of third-party widgets.

Each of these allow you to customize your Grid in a variety of ways.

Resizing your Grids

After adding content, design your Grid by resizing or rearranging blocks.

Saving your Grids

Once satisfied, hit the checkmark button in the bottom right corner to save your changes. Your Grid info is stored securely, ensuring it’s always under your control.

Share Your Grid

Click “Copy Profile Link” at the top of your UP to generate a shareable link. It’s your all-in-one profile — no more juggling link trees.

How Data Is Stored in Universal Profiles

Everything in your Grid is stored using decentralized storage and referenced on-chain. This means:

- Your Grid data is currently stored on IPFS, but could be stored at any location by users in the future
- Any dapp can read the LSP28Grid meta data and download the file contains your Grid configuration to show your Grid

This interoperability allows for the Grid to appear not only on universaleverything.io but also on any dApp that choses to read it.

The Grid allows you to load any dApp into an iframe. Soon you will be able to use our custom UP-provider, which will allow users to One-Click-Connect to an app, while the dApp receives both: The address of the profile that the visitor is on and is showing your dApp, as well as the address of the user that connects.
