The Great Chain of Being is an ordering of all life, sublife, and esolife. The original version known in medieval times was of a straight patriarchal line.
A line extending in the following manner
God
↓
Angels
↓
Humans
↓
Animals
↓
Plants
↓
Minerals
Now of course aliens, devils, robots, AI, and extra-dimensional constructs mess up the early rudimentary diagram of the Great Chain of Being.
In the newer Pretty Awesome Chain of Being (P.A.C.O.B), Robots and AI arise from the kingdom of Minerals but have a unnamed graph edge connecting them to a node existing at an in-between state of (Animals -> Plants) and (Humans -> Animals) respectively.
This same ordering strategy for slotting in extra organisms into the domain from which they arise but then connecting them via graph edge to where they are positioned has been used for correctly determining the positions of the other newer members of the P.A.C.O.B
Extra Dimensional Constructs are not shown here, as the graph keeping all of them in order is quite complicated.
But anyway, that’s not even what we’re here to talk about today!

This big jerk is not willing to stay at Animal position of the Great Chain of being, subservient to Man, eating the plants.
It wants to rule over man, to assert a dominance that is unnatural!
It wants to kick the ass of man, to laugh at its master, to stand as an equal.
I know what you’re thinking, you’re thinking this is what comes of genetic engineering draft animals, and maybe also thinking “not so smart now are you Illuminati Ganga?!”
Maybe but here I think in fact the human is ultimately to blame
That’s right, the great Chain of being only works because the man has obligations to the working animal, obligations that here are obviously not being met!
A twist for the ages, the real Jackass was the human all the time, the idiot who caused all his own problems by ill thought and violent actions and the Jackass was completely blameless, sure it took vengeance — but only when vengeance was warranted!
BUT WAIT — PERHAPS THEY ARE BOTH EQUALLY TO BLAME
And now we see the truth, a co-dependent relationship of drunkenness and violence and debauchery, a cycle of endless paybacks and offenses.
A true hell on Earth in which nobody can be said to hold to their proper position in the natural order.
