What makes someone a creative leader
What’s this thing called creativity and why is it so important in life, especially when you’re a leader? Can you learn it or is it something you’re either talented in or not at all?
Yes, creativity is when you have to come up with a new idea, make something up that didn’t exist before or wasn’t used in a certain way. And as the highlight above shows, we tend to get nervous when something like this is asked from us even if we are always full of new ideas. It is the uncomfortability of having to do a task which isn’t strictly determined, therefore it can have a totally different meaning for everyone. So how can you come up with a good idea that is exactly what’s asked from you?
You can’t. And that’s the point. It’s the encounter of different mindsets that actually helps creativity spread. When you’re having a discussion where everyone shares their own ideas, that’s what will kickstart the process and that’s when new ideas will be born.
So creativity is not something you are born with. It’s all about letting your mind open up and sharing whatever small idea comes to your mind because you never know what thoughts that idea will start in other people’s minds.
