Revolutionising the production of gameplay videos with Luna Replay

Creatives have quickly become the core lever, for which UA teams can optimise their game marketability tests and marketing spend.

With this trend, there comes the rise of a few tricky questions for games studios:

  • How can we build a team that has a creative-first mindset and can be easily set up for success?
  • How can we test and create more creative concepts and variations?
  • And how can we understand our creatives better, and increase our ability to iterate quickly as a result?

Today, we are excited to announce the launch of Luna Replay, a tool which for the first time automates your production and editing of gameplay videos, and addresses the questions above.

With Replay, you can create unlimited video variations from a single gameplay recording. Not only does it save you and your team hours of time, but it also solves some of your existing workflow issues, unlocking new creative opportunities in return.

Here’s a sneak peek of what you can achieve with Replay, with a little help from our friends at Sybo:

Created by Sybo. Powered by Luna.

So how does it work?

To get started, simply install our Unity plugin into a game, and record your videos as you normally would from your device.

From then on, you can see the recordings you captured on our easy-to-use interface, Luna Playground, and start creating.

And to dive a bit deeper, we’ve listed some of Replay’s core capabilities (with examples from a few of our close partner studios) below:

  1. Modify any visual elements in your gameplay videos

Replay offers the ability to change anything visual in your game, from the camera angle, character choice, scenery, the colour of an object to text copy and more.

Better still, you can do all of this in one sitting… and as many times as you want.

2. Create videos in any aspect ratio and resolution

It’s no surprise that you and your team have been spending a lot of your time editing video creatives just to match the ad format different ad networks require.

With Replay, you can just capture the video once, and download it in any display resolution and aspect ratio you need.

3. Localise your gameplay videos in multiple languages

We don’t have time to change the languages — let’s just use the English version.

Have you ever said this? If yes, then we have great news for you. Through Replay, you can instantly change the languages of the text in your videos, without having to re-record or make edits to an existing capture.

Replay has given us a new outlook on video production, saving us countless hours each week and solving our workflow issues. We can’t wait to see what else the team at Luna has in store for us!

— Farhan Haq, Head of Performance Marketing & Mobile Growth at Sybo

As you can see, we have been working closely with different partner studios to create a product that can significantly reduce the time and resources it takes to produce gameplay videos — helping you set a new outlook on creative production, marketability testing and UA automation.

But we’re just getting started! In the coming months, we’ll be rolling out even more features (mainly focusing on automation and analytics) to enhance your workflow and understanding of creatives further.

For instance, we just released our screenshot feature (what we used to take all of the above images) that greatly reduces the time it takes to create images in any size, language, and style for the App Store.

That’s it for now. If you’re interested in learning more, then head over here to sign up to our 7-day free trial or get in touch with us at contact@lunalabs.uk.
