LunaFi & Lunabets - October Review

The final hurdle is always the hardest, and this has been no exception. October saw numerous new features and bugs being fixed, but we have sadly been unable to showcase the Casino to Beta Users. We anticipate this will go straight to the Beta that takes real bets later this month.

We are aiming for a soft launch come 17th November. During this period, we won't be advertising our product outside of the Discord community. Please remember it will still be a Beta, and this is a rough date due to the moving parts.

What we achieved

LunaFi

Test USDC House Pools on Dev

Testing the USDC house pool accepting bets from Lunabets has been a complex task. There have been minor tweaks to both the LunaFi and Lunabets contracts to ensure EV & MV are updated as required.

Just as a brief reminder for those who haven’t read up on the House Pools, the TVL = Liquidity + EV -Ps

i.e. the TVL in the pool is made up of the liquidity in the contract, the expected value of bets yet to settle, less the pending stakes that are still effectively a liability to the pool as they could be refunded. This allows users to deposit at fair value and withdraw (bear in mind there is a penalty on EV on withdrawal as you pass on risk to others.)

Creating a dashboard to show these pools has been somewhat complicated due to the occasional impermanent loss and variance seen. Therefore calculating the APY is pretty tricky. We have elected to go for a rolling 30-day and 7-day average.

Nonetheless, we hope that people will see the actual value of real yields in a bear market is considerable and should be very promising to the project.
