Solar power capacity has been continuously increasing in our world during the last recent decade. In fact, according to Bloomberg Business, since 2013 our society has been increasingly adding more Capacity from Renewable Energy Sources rather than from Fossil Fuel Burning Plants. In the United States mainly, Federal tax credits and financial incentives from government and utility companies have fueled an increase in the renewable energy percentage share of the energy mix. The Solar Energy Industry Association reports that since 2013 solar has had a larger share than wind and coal in new generating capacity.

Although solar has had golden years, as the Tripleundit website states, to maintain the increasing value of solar energy work will have to be done by the government, and industry. The US government will have to reevaluate the benefits from solar energy and introduce a new incentive after the Solar Tax Credit comes to an end. Similarly, utility companies will have to readjust their business models to individuals with excess solar capacity in their roofs. The solar industry will need to keep up with research to gain higher profitability in an era where natural gas resources have become so abundant.
