Delmar Loop’s St. Louis Bread Co. To Close

For so many years, Delmar loop’s St. Louis Bread Company has served the citizens of University City as a community gathering place. The owner says that the business is closing because of potential parking problems due to the construction of the loop trolley and a raise in rent. The closing is leaving many people very upset.

“To me it’s a shock. It shocks me because growing up as a kid, I always came here to the Bread Company just being down here in the loop all the time seeing the Bread Company is closing down. I really hope they keep it here. I heard that the people in University City have been petitioning for it to be here,” said Mike Gibson.

The business is closing because of potential parking problems due to the construction of the loop trolley and a raise in rent. A petition has been started to help save the business from closing. The mayor of University City is urging people to sign the petition to voice their concerns to Panera Bread Company.
