‘The Looming Tower’ Trailer: Oh Look, They Made My New Favourite Show

I like to talk a lot about how good the cast of Spielberg’s The Post is, but the cast of Hulu’s upcoming 9/11 miniseries The Looming Tower is almost — almost — even better. And this thing is 10 hours long!

We’ve got my boy Jeff Daniels, smoking a cigar, overacting the sh*t out of every line. Jeff Daniels shouting in offices is a particular adoration of mine. The Newsroom did it well, Steve Jobs did it better.

The antagonist of the piece? Alec *motherf*cking* Baldwin, who doesn’t speak in this trailer, but I’m sure will say some phenomenal stuff.

Yes oh yes oh yes, that’s Michael Stuhlbarg — with a DOPE new look. And beside him is Peter Sarsgaard as a potentially not-to-be-trusted fellow within the FBI.

And there’s Bill Camp, who has quickly become one of my favourite character actors after a string of appearances — most notably on The Night Of and The Leftovers, where he literally played God.

The series will follow the CIA and FBI’s contentious investigating into imminent Al Qaeda attacks prior to September 11, and how 9/11 could have been prevented. We’re talking Homeland meets The Newsroom with an incredible sense of urgency. And THAT CAST. Colour me ecstatically excited.

It premieres Feb 28.
