In a mutual agreement, John McAfee will be stepping down as Chief Executive Officer of Luxcore. The split is amicable, and the door remains open for future opportunities to collaborate, where appropriate.
When appointed Luxcore CEO, McAfee said at the time, “Luxcore’s rapid development of game-changing technology requires a rapid escalation of business growth… I am excited about our aggressive growth strategy and the many innovations yet to come.”
Under McAfee’s guidance, that is exactly what Luxcore has done over the past nine months. Luxcore has made great strides in its development workflows, with products such as LuxGate and Decentralized File Storage (DFS) nearing release. McAfee was also instrumental in getting Luxcore listed on the Coinbene exchange, a move that turned out to be almost clairvoyant given what has since transpired with the ill-fated Cryptopia exchange.
In the run-up to the 2020 U.S. federal election campaign, McAfee said he would no longer have the time required to continue fulfilling his role as Luxcore CEO. In his stead, COO Guillaume Huot, CFO Frederick Angers and CSO John Kim will continue to provide day-to-day leadership of the project. They will actively begin searching for a new CEO with the qualifications and expertise to lead Luxcore through its next phase of growth.
“Our priorities are different now than they were when John first came aboard,” explains Huot. “He was integral in helping us get to the point where our technology was finally ready for release. But now that we’re there, we need new leadership that can help us tackle the strategic marketing and business growth challenges ahead.”
Such growth has already begun, as Luxcore has launched a campaign to establish a global network of strategic partnerships with entities such as ivendPay, TEQNOBLOC and Gath3r. Luxcore is excited about the road ahead, and wishes McAfee well in all his future endeavors.
