Q4 has been one of the biggest yet for the Luxcore team and network. In the past month, we’ve rolled out our algorithm crossover to RX2 (a RandomX derivative) and begun pool and miner integration, launched the highly anticipated LuxGate Beta for user testing, and seen several core members help spread the Luxcore message through appearances on podcasts and other media.

Let’s have a quick recap of everything we’ve been working on as of late.

Make sure to keep up with future updates and news by following us on Twitter, Discord, and by checking out the Luxcore blog.

RandomX2 (RX2) Implementation & Fine-Tuning

In furtherance of staying competitive in today’s ever changing blockchain ecosystem, we announced our mining algorithm switch from PHI2 to RX2 (RandomX2) at the end of September. Our switch to RandomX2 was spurred by a need to safeguard against specialized mining hardware (ASICs), enjoy a higher degree of decentralization, and enable more participants to join the Luxcore network. Hybrid consensus models have historically proven to support higher degrees of decentralization and ultimately, network security.

Since then, we’ve hit the ground running, and have ticked off the following boxes.

  • Completed the RandomX2 algorithm implementation
  • Fine-tuned the RX2 algorithm to meet the Luxcore network’s needs (keep in mind this is a derivative of RandomX)
  • Begun pool and miner integration (currently in progress)

Our RandomX2 implementation is a testament to our commitment of ensuring a highly decentralized network and truly egalitarian distribution of block rewards for participants.

LuxGate Beta Testing

The second core facet of the Luxcore ecosystem which has been a top priority is the rollout and testing of LuxGate, the first truly decentralized exchange utilizing atomic swaps and smart contract order books to allow peer-to-peer (P2P) trading. LuxGate is positioned to give power back to the crypto community, through it’s elimination of trading fees or third-party interference.

Specifically, LuxGate has seen the following changes and improvements:

  • Improvement of LuxGate start-up and shut-down to prevent chain corruption
  • Cancellation of invalid and inactive orders to keep the orderbook clean
  • Amelioration of LuxGate UI elements to enhance user experience

LuxGate beta testing is still ongoing, and the team still has a list of improvements that we are working through every day.

Token listings are still in the works, so make sure to follow our Twitter, Discord, or Luxcore blog for upcoming updates and news! If you’re interested in having your token listed on LuxGate, reach out to us at: guillaume@luxcore.io. Or, maybe you have a project you’d like to see listed on LuxGate, comment and tag the project’s Twitter handle over at: https://twitter.com/LUX_COIN/status/1179444139252957186.

Mix in several key interviews and podcast appearances for the Luxcore staff, and it’s definitely been a busy September and October for the LUX team.

We’re excited for what the rest of 2019 holds for Luxcore and its users, and will continue posting updates to increase project transparency and community confidence.
